The future of accounting

Tech skills are the most sought-after skills for future bookkeepers and accountants.  Therefore our training is based on the latest cloud accounting packages to ensure your skills are relevant.  Our profession needs to be an expert in cloud software applications and the correct integration of add on applications otherwise we are unable to service our clients in the most effective way.  

The second sought after skill in the accounting space is strong interpersonal and communication skills.  We need to gain the trust of our clients and guide them by providing professional advice.  This requires clear verbal and written communication skills.  

Our Program

We provide a three month rotation service with three different bookkeeping firms where you would learn different accounting packages and be part of the day to day running of a busy bookkeeping firm.  We provide quality one on one training on live data.  You would learn all aspects of operating your own business . 

You would also be attending workshops, client and staff meetings. 

Upon completion of the initial 9 month training period, we would support you in engaging your own clients and provide supervisory BAS services.

To start off with you would train on the latest cloud based accounting software.  You would complete online certification course for Xero, MYOB and QBO.  Once this has been successfully tackled, we would then train you in some handy tips and tricks to make your life easier as a professional BAS Agent or Accountant. 

We would also cover time management, scheduling, communication and managing your own business office environment.

Now that you are proficient in the software applications, it will be time to move on to train on actual data.  Our training would include:

  • Creation of an accounting software file including chart of accounts set-up, payroll configuration, and assignment of default GST tax codes;

  • Recording of receipts and payments into accounting software;

  • Reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts;

  • Reconciliation of debtors, creditors and inventory subsidiary ledgers;

  • Posting of journal entries where necessary;

  • Preparation of business activity statements (BAS) and instalment activity statements (IAS);

  • Payroll attendances at weekly/fortnightly/monthly intervals;

  • Annual preparation of PAYG payment summaries and annual ATO reporting;

  • Preparation of weekly/fortnightly/monthly/quarterly financial statements;

  • Preparation of the financial year-end workpapers for your tax agent;

  • Cash flow statements, profit & loss forecasts and budgets;

  • Phone and email-based support;

  • Dealing with the ATO on your behalf on matters relating to BAS agent services.

On completion of your initial training program and only if we feel you are capable, you are ready to engage your own clients and put into practice everything you have learned on your journey with us.  Don't worry, if you are not ready, we will provide further training.  If you are not confident enough, we will be here to support you.  This should be an exciting time and not stressful and scarry.

We would provide you the support on a client by client bases as well as supervisory services.  We would review all your work to ensure that there is a high level of accuracy and full compliance.  We would also provide the lodgement services for the Activity Statements, STP, Superannuation, TPAR, portable LSL as well as supervisory services for the end of year finalisations.

We have partnered up with an HR Firm and a Business Advisory Firm to offer additional training, which we highly recommend that you complete.

Assurance HR Management provides training in Human Resources and Workplace Health & Safety, and, in particular, Fair Works Legislation, payroll and compliance.  

Frankie Forsyth Consulting Pty Ltd provide Business Ready English programs.  You would learn verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with your clients.  As you need to earn your client's trust, fluent communication is an essential part of your business operation.
